When you use good quality hair products you will find your hair easier to maintain at home in between salon visits.
Good Quality Shampoo and Conditioner
Its beneficial to use good quality shampoo and conditioner that works for your hair type. Distinguishing your main focus on what you want to achieve from your products can help with this selection. e.g colour longevity, shine enhancing, moisture maintenance, curl enhancement, smoothing improvement.
Shampoos and conditioners are often sold as ‘sets,’ but it’s perfectly fine to mix shampoos and conditioners as they serve different purposes…
Shampoo Tip: Shampoo you hair twice!
Shampooing your hair twice is beneficial as allows for a proper cleanse. The first shampoo will will remove dirt, oil and product buildup while the second shampoo cleanses the scalp and hair.
Detangler Brush
A detangling brush is ideal for evenly distributing treatments, conditioners and products through the strands. This product reduces hair breakage and detangles on wet and dry hair.
Leave in Treatment Spray
One of my favourite products is the luxurious keratin-based at home treatment spray Miracle Elixir by Keune. It helps maintain the initial level of softness, rebuilds, repairs and protects the hair structure, improves combability and mositurises from the inside out.
Straight Cream- Leave In Moisturiser
If you would prefer a cream based product I would recommend Straight Cream. This is a heat activated cream to smooth frizz and straighten curls. It leaves the hair soft, silky and shiny. This product also have UV filter. Work through this product into damp hair and style with a blowdryer and straightening iron if required.
Dry Shampoo
For a shower-fresh feel.... extend your blowdry with a dry shampoo. Dry shampoo absorbs oil and impurities. After use the hair feels cleaner and fuller. Shake and spray onto the roots of dry hair at a distance of approx 20cm and rub in. Wait for 2 mintues then brush through several times to clear away excess product.
Brilliant Gloss Spray
The essential finishing touch for any hairstyle. This product is a fine, weightless spray for luminous, irresistable shine. Simply mist onto dry hair as a finishing touch
Defrizz Serum
If you prefer a serum then a light weight shine spray this luxurious serum smooths frizz, polishes hair, adds frizz free shine and leaves hair luminous. A little goes a long way with this product so rub a small amount into your hands then work through damp or dry.
Soft Set Spray
Another salon favourite is the soft set spray. A weightless working hairspray with a flexible finish. This product adds natural shine, is easy to brush out, has flexible hold and also contains UV filter. Mist onto dry hair at a distance of approx 30cm. Layer to customise your hold.
In the end, building your hair product collection is specific to you, and it might take some trial and error. This list is just designed to get you thinking about the types of products to keep on hand to keep your hair looking its best…and these are some of the products that are important to me and my lifestyle.
